There will be a new coach at the helm for the 2017 season for Norwest United Men's First Team. Luke McIntyre joins the Norwest United set up and is looking forward to building a side that can push towards NRFL status.

"I am looking forward to building a side that can play good, progressive football to gain promotion in to the Northern League. Norwest is a good progressive club that has a lot of good quality youth players," said McIntyre.

Luke is keen to start early to have the best possible preparation for the 2017 season and is looking to start pre season training from Tuesday January 17th which will then continue every Tuesday and Thursday onwards from 6:30pm.

'Luke's appointment is ultimately a long term project where we see him initially setting a solid foundation from which he can build a strong team from. We are confident that Luke's reputation will attract players to the club to join a talented group of players we already have. I hope that Luke's determination and passion to create a strong team bond and work ethic will be infectious to the players as Luke builds his group for 2017 and in to future seasons with the club," says Director of Coaching Chris Acott

Luke will be assisted by David Kerr with the first team and David will be head coach for the reserves team.

2017 Open training window

Open training for all current and new players to be considered for both first team and reserves will commence from Tuesday January 17th from 6:30pm at Huapai Domain lower fields. Training will continue every Tuesday and Thursday onwards throughout the season.

Open Training will finish Tuesday 28th February at which point the first team squad will be announced. Players wanting to be considered for either side after this date will be by invitation only.
